could possibly be because your mothers computer is closer to the router if ,your using wireless, causing it prioritize her computer over your xbox. or possibly her computer has a lot of programs using the internet

Is there a way I can make my xbox priorty and is there a way I can tell which programs are using internet

xbox doesnt take up as much internet as the laptop does.

Well if there hooked to the same router to much activity can cause it to lag!
