Most of you have noticed that when you try to make a post of a very short length, you're getting the following error:

"The message must contain at least 20 characters."

Unfortunately, the first reaction most of you have on this is immediately adding rubbish text at the end of your post, such as:

2020202020 aaaaaaaaaa nagsdo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and bypassing the twenty character minimum. Which is really bad of course, and it annoys the staff by making them waste there time to read reports about spam.

A lot of people don't seem to understand that the post length system exists for a reason, and that is to make you, TTG users, make longer, smarter, more meaningful posts.
So if you get the error message of your post being too short, it means the post you're attempting to make is of low quality, and you should formulate it into a better quality one, or not post it at all.

But then you'd say, what about posting in threads which require short posts? Like the "what's your name" threads, or "how old are you", etc. Well if you want to be considered as a high quality member, don't post in those threads. As simple as that.

Making a post in a thread to tell someone that you PMed them? Low quality.

Answering a yes/no question? Low quality.

Just expressing gratitude without anything else to say? Low quality.

Wanting to express how funny somebody's post is? Low quality.

You want to be considered as a good quality member? Make smart, meaningful posts that contribute to the community. Your posts count won't go up as fast, but its quality will, and your reputation in the community.

Just because a thread does not need a reply that is at least 20 characters does not grant you the right to bypass the system, you can easily make your post longer by adding description and longer words.

If you are going to post on threads that do not require 20 minimum characters to answer a question here is a example of how to reach the 20 character minimum.

Guy 1:Post how old you are.
Guy 2:I am eight-teen years old.

Instead of

Guy 1:How old are you?
Guy 2:18 202020202020202020202020

And yes bypassing the twenty character minimum is against the rules so here is a direct copy and paste from the rules.

"20 characters
1) in order to post on the forums your post must be 20 characters and above we have started to see a trend were users will post pointless babble or random text like /20chars we will no longer stand for this if we see you do this your post will be deleted the reason for this is if your reply is less than 20 characters that content wont add to the thread itself if we see you add babble your post will be deleted without warning and your account may receive one of its 3 warnings or just be out right suspended without warning"

Meaning that if somebody is bypassing the 20 character minimum you can report the post for spamming.

If this helped you or you think I did a good job don't just post saying thanks, thank the topic.
TL;DR go read it.

this is a very nice post bri should be sticked

Great post mate, this will help out people who are confused on why we have the limit of posts and may help to reduce spam..

Once again, great job on this, should be stickied

Could be getting there. 100+ posts is a good thing. Mine only had 50 though and its a sticky so guess it doesnt matter. But this stickied? yeah I hope so!

Nice post this should get stickied

Should be stickied or announced, the whole of the tech game community needs to learn this.

i agree im sick of seeing 20202020 everywhere everyone needs to look at this post and follow it

This is a great post! This will help most of the community

Very nice post, and I agree 100%.
I've been here over a year, and I try to make my posts as meaningful and helpful as I can. I hate seeing people making the shortest possible responses, and making useless spam threads. Anyways, +rep to you.

Yes, it isn't hard to figure out but a lot of people don't seem to understand it.

But the Thing is, If Someone Asks You a Question, Like Do You Have A Jtag And What Type? You Can't really improve On "Yes, jasper 20202020" But Yeah, I Agree Some People Just Spam With Like Ok 2020202020
