Right, ive been working on my little project for a while, I have a case window with red LED's, i have a HDD case window with red LED's, my ROL has red LED's and my controller has red LED's. This is all visible in my avatar

but what i want to do now is to fit some LED's into the DVD drive near the front so when i eject the disk i get a nice red glow out of it... Does anyone know if this would be possible or would the LED's F**k up the Laser if there on 24/7, if so would there be away for them to only go on when i press eject until it closes again?

Any help would be good and alos other ideas would be good.

Thanks

Liam

ahhh, i mucked mine up too lol... i wired and hot glued all the LED's in with 12v resistors and when i got to powering it up i found out that 2.5" HDD's only use 5V so i had to re-do them all all works now tho

yeh i used 12v LEDs and was very low and i brought some 6v LEDs of eBay and the worked wonders.

The LEDs in side the case are speacial ones and change through 7 different colours!

thats a cool idea (my jatg in my avvy one of em at least)

its possbile woudld have to build a circuit from eject light on rf unit to a relay to tell it to provide the power for the lights prob is it blinks

woudl be simper to map it to eject button on botom of board to relay to tell when to turn on/off

cant provide schematics sorry ..but this shouldnt be problem if your detremined enough

im thinking make up a circuit for 1st click of eject turns it on, second off.. like the xbox power button, one press triggers it off until its pressed again, havent a clue on how to do this so im gona have to get researching:D

will keep you all informed on progress,
