My question that i hope someone can answer is does flashing your drive still work or does it ban you from xbox live still. I recently had my system repaired its a halo elite. It was the best xbox ive had out of 4.the dvd drive has gone bad and just want to replace the drive. Also if i get a new drive and flash it does it still play the games you get from the store. any help is appreciated

Don't bother flashing the drive on that xbox, do it on an older, less valuable one. Replace the dvd drive with a new lite-on one. If it's still under warranty send it back to be repaired. If you flash your drive you will eventually be banned, sooner or later. I nor TTG support piracy so if you want new games just go out and pay for them.

No problem, if you do buy a new drive it's not as simple as taking out the old one and putting in the new one, you'll have to extract the dvd key from both drives and spoof the nand.

if u get the exact same drive yes you will have to flash hopefully it a benq and not a liteon
so u dont have to buy an extractor chip

u would read fw from broken drive , flash it to new one

if u cant do that u can pcb from drive to drive swap but since both lite on and benq drives have wires soldered to board dont know if id reccomend
