Its possible of course.

However think about how far we have gone in Technoligy in just 10 Years.

In 20 more we will have The ability to throw that thing off its course so it comes no were near us in my opinion

Or we could just send out all the nukes in our power and obviously those numerous nuke explosions would throw it off a bit.

It will happen so fast no one will even know.
