I bought a JTAG online and have been having some fun. The seller copied his original nands and all to an external I gave him, so I have all the original files. (named nand1-nand5... useful.) The box has 12611 running, and I've managed to set up FSD and port over some emulators and a backup of my L4D2 game, and they're working.

What's NOT working is the dvd drive. It sticks, but I manually opened it and put in a game to copy to the hdd, but it won't read the disc. I have spent the last 2 nights doing research and I know 12611 needs the original kv and I've seen a post telling somone to use flash360 to check his dvd key to get his drive to read.

I'm not too lazy to look things up, and I downloaded flash360... but I don't want to kill this thing. Can anyone tell me how to use flash360 and the original prejtag nand to compare my current dvd key to the original, and how to set the key back to the original if it has changed?

I have a lot of rpgs I actually bought and want to backup.

**EDIT**

Ran flash tool and added cpu key and flashdump and original nand both have same dvd key and OSIG unspoofed... so is my dvd drive just dead? It's closing fine and you can hear it running for a few seconds but it won't read.

you need to patch the DVD Drive or you could just flash with your original nand then go back to the new FBulid. Then it should work.

Considering you said your drive is "sticking",it's not a mixed match dvd key...

What type of dvd drive is it? Sammies are well known to "stick" and usually the lasers go out pretty quick, especially on Jtags seeing how most are all old consoles(original parts)..

I suggest taking it apart and cleaning the laser with a qtip n rubbing alcohol first. If you even have access to swap the dvd drive with a similar one, that would even be better..

Don't mess with the nand info...Sounds like you haven't even flashed a kv yet so it's not like the nand and dvd info is not matching..

Or you can always find someone to just go ahead and repair the drive for you..

Thanks for the replies, for the moment I have it working well enough (sans drive) and have read enough to understand the issues.

I reflashed to 'fb' .041, added the avatar update, and reinstalled dashlaunch 2.07 and FSD 2 latest... so I'm getting the hang of things. Had one scary moment though, when I flashed to .041 dashlaunch failed and all I could see was the NXE menu. Spent 30 mins praying I hadn't bricked it somehow until I added xexmenu to a usb mem and it worked. Good learning lessons. :p

You have to either
1. Get a new DVD Drive.
2. Patch the DVD Drive so it works.
Hope this helps you out.
