Dota has no descriptions

Hey so i just downloaded the latest dota version 6.70c i think and when i play, the heros have no names and descriptions and neither do the items, heros when they chat it doesnt show there names it just comes up with there username then () instead of username(name of char)

if somebody could help i would greatly appreciate it


and yes i know no one on this site usually post about dota but its worth a shot!
