i want to hook my pc up to my tv and dont have a hdmi port on my pc all i have is an vga port so i want to know if this would work?

if i got a vga to dvi convertor VGA (male) DVI female and plug that into the vga port then i would have a DVI port the if i was then to get a dvi to hdmi cable and plug the dvi side in to my DVI port and the HDMI side into my tv would this show my desktop on my tv
