Im running with a slim right now at the moment so actualy i can answer that question.
With the peek and poke it should install perfectly fine as did mine. I actually installed the CFW from Waninkoko twice and haven't had anything happen yet. As for the peek & Poke and Geohot's CFW your Ps3 should be flashed with it perfectly fine (:

Yea anytime the slims are very reliable and jailbreak extremely easy. Although the only problem i seem to be having right now is running the actual backups. I don't know what it is but it will load the game logo but then black screen and do nothing and i have no clue with either its the CFW or the game itself.

Haha smart but the weird thing is im not running VIA .iso its an actual backup of the game. So im assuming its the game itself? Maybe being outdated and unable to load in that way? Oh if anyone does want to know its CoD 4

what is the conversation about ps3 getting bricked about? are u talking about something else than just the custom firmware that i can use for installing file managers n stuff.. is there some new hack or something?

ok i have a question with the new CFW, if i jailbreak my slim Ps3 with it and use the backup manager that is working with it, will i be able to play PS2 games on it or no?
