Seems like an obvious question, but I was thinking about upgrading from an i3 @ 2.6GHz. The i5 has only 4 cores, but has double the cache and speed yet the Phenom has six cores with 2 extra cores and overlocking ability without any special cooling. It'd finally go on:

5770HD AMD 1GB GDDR5
8GB DDR3 1333MHz

The main computer usage would be basic internet browsing, occasional Photoshop, and World of Warcraft.

I was leaning towards the six core, but the Intel...

I actually went with the i5 750, and plan to overclock it to 3.3GHz. The AMD is nice, but the Black Edition cost an extra 100 dollars than the i5 and the i5 has more cache and faster core speeds. I also decided to upgrade to 6GB DDR3 1333MHz, and got a second 5770HD AMD 1GB card for crossfire/SLI.. next thing I plan to get is a PhysX or Sound Card; then I'm done with my computer completely. Thanks for the "help," this can be closed now.
