Best thing to do is hammer tutorials.

Googe or youtube search for Photoshop Tutorials

Dont worry about which version it is cos it aint huge problem.

Maybe work on:
Text
Blending
Colour Correction
Smudging
Bump Mapping (advanced)
Clipping Masks
Gradients
Curves
Levels
The Different effects in the Blending Option menu
Filters
