Okay, so I know it is possible to dump a nand off of any console(including those past the 7XXX series). I also know that this nand dump is just about useless without the cpu key that can be found one of 3 ways.

1) Get it through an unsigned bootloader (XeLL)
2) Brute force it (a 16 byte key? I don't think so)
3) Decap the processor and view the fuse sets under a microscope

Now if method 3 is a legitimate method to recover your cpu key wouldn't you be able to lift kvs of of dead, updated consoles. I guess my question is how much of a stretch is method 3 and is it even possible. I have a dead opus board to experiment on and i was wondering how powerful of tools i would need to pull it off.

De-capping the Cpu would be next to impossible you need well over one hundred thousand dollars worth of equipment to be able to be successful with that Not to mention you would also need A Rework station to even get the Cpu off

Well it wasn't exactly my plan of action to go out and buy all the equipment I need to accomplish this. My point being in theory what sort of equipment would you need?

P.S. I have access to a rework station thankyouverrymuch

You're sorta close...You can dump the nand on any console but it must be pre 7371 for you to be able to boot xell on it to get cpu key..

You can lift a exploitable cpu(from a dead board) and reball on a donor board(working board/updated),reflash exploitable nand over and you can then write xell to get cpu...

Then you have a working exploitable console, not an updated one...

It's going to take more than a rework station to pull it off. Even then, the skilled are only capable of pulling it off, it's not an easy task at all..

Thats my point, I don't want to revive this board what im interested in is lifting the cpu key off the non-exploitable cpu via methods other than xell.

I don't think you understand...

You need to get xell, other methods, you cannot do...

I'm not talking about reviving the board, just removing the cpu from it and placing on a working board...

You need to get cpu key and you need xell, end of story..

Why is everyone so hooked on xell. For christ sakes stretch your mind a bit. There is never only one way to do something.

Of course there are but you are no way by any means capable of doing that...

You haven't even lifted a chip yet or even reballed and you want to get the cpu key off the cpu bga?

If I thought you were capable of doing it, I would say go for it but considering you're asking how to on ttg, that tells me no..
