I was thinking because ps3 have a setting on anon proxy server to disable updates do you think that there would be a way to do the same thing on the 360 because i have an ethernet cable from my xbox to my laptop and picking my router up through that and bridging the connections so do you think it is possible to maybe block updates for certain games if ypu clear ypur system cache like cod4 for example and bring transfer cable and usb mods back, if you have any suggestions please let me know, thanks.

The only thing you could do with a bridged connection like you are using is connect to live through a proxy, which would mask you real IP from Microsoft and Treyarch, which would make it impossible for them to IP ban you from Black Ops.

No. I suppose you could attempt possibly rerouting the packets that have to do with the update but then your timestamps would be messed up and you would just get some kind of disconnect error.
