i have a working backup manager for ps3, because i don't have the disc or the requeired usb storage, would i be able to download it split it in half put 1 half on the ps3 and put the other one on would it work?

I doubt very much you would get this to work. you cant put half the game on ps3 & half on usb it has to be 1 full peice
