This is released on Febuary 1st
Before Any1 asks this is my post no copying or pasting done here plz rep if u like it
Ascension will be the eighth Zombie map and is set to appear in the First Strike map pack, which is to be released on February 1, 2011 for Call of Duty Black Ops on the Xbox 360 and a month later on the PS3 and PC. It might also appear on the Wii, but the First Strike pack has not been confirmed to, and a release date has yet to be given. It is confirmed to take place in an abandoned Soviet Cosmodrome. The map is to include Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki, and Edward Richtofen as well as a NEW mysterious character and will include new weapons like the Gersch Device and Matryoshka Dolls, as well as new perks such as PhD Flopper and Stamin-Up and a new enemy (space monkeys) are to appear in this map.
Weapons
MP5k (Off-wall)
Stakeout (Off-wall)
Claymore (Off-wall)
Sickle (Off-wall)
SPAS-12 (Mystery Box)
HS10 (Mystery Box)
Matryoshka Dolls (Mystery Box)
Gersch Device (Mystery Box)
Death Machine (Power Up)
The name of this map's song may be called "Abracadavre", because on PC the Game Over music filename is "mus_gameover_abracadavre".
There is a rocket on the map, but it is unknown whether or not it will affect gameplay. *The map will require power as you can see a drawing of a lighting bolt on a door.
It is possible that this map enables the players to climb ladders, as there are now more vertical areas such as the launch tower.
Game files suggest that Ascension was originally planned to be released on disc, but was later removed.
The map contains a centrifuge which is a giant arm that swings at high speeds to train astronauts for high G-Forces. It is possibly a trap.
This zombie map could well be the largest yet. From the "First Strike" trailer it is visible that there is a Rocket Platform and a centrifuge. *The rocket platform seems to take players from one side of the map to the other.
The Centrifuge Room is possibly the spawn room due to the presence of a Quick Revive.
If one looks at the First Strike trailer at 0:47, there appears to be a chalk outline of a sickle on the wall. It appears to be on a control panel for the Rocket Platform.
It appears that some zombies will be wearing gas masks, and one could assume they were wearing it before succumbing to zombification.
If one looks closely at the space monkeys in the First Strike gameplay trailer, the monkeys are wearing different colored shirts. There was a green one, a red one, and a yellow/silver one in the trailer.
Some zombies are wearing spacesuits without the helmet.
Tank Dempsey
"Time to shock some meat-bag ass! Oorah!"
Tank Dempsey (after getting the Wunderwaffe DG-2)
Tank Dempsey was a Marine Raider and is a playable character in the Zombies game mode. He is only seen in the missions Shi No Numa and Der Riese in Call of Duty: World at War, but in Call of Duty: Black Ops he appears in all four original zombie maps, Kino der Toten and the upcoming Zombie map, Ascension. He is voiced by Steve Blum.
"Tank Dempsey: American hero. Give him a loaded weapon, a good woman, and something to shoot at and hes happy. Cross him and hell rip your guts out and use them as a bandolier. Dempsey was selected for this mission after he showed his true grit at the battle for Peleliu. His unit was captured during the early raids before the main invasion, and he spent 2 weeks in a rat infested bamboo cage submerged in malarial water. Eventually, he gnawed his way through the cage, and then gnawed his way through his captors armed only with a Bobby pin and his Medal of Honor which he keeps secreted in various body cavities. There is no before the war for Dempsey, there is no after. There is only the legend of Tank Dempsey, and how he won the war for the rest of us. Leaving behind a wake of destruction and meat sacks wherever he goes, Dempsey is the man to have on your side when faced with an undead apocalypse".[1]
His mission was to recover Peter from Group 935, but somehow his memory was wiped from Element 115 according to a document in Vbush. Richtofen was aware of this memory wipe as the document says he's observing him, Takeo, and Nikolai.
Dempsey appears to like the Monkey Bomb as he will sometimes say "I'm going to miss that little guy..." once he throws it. All characters express liking, due to its usefulness and entertainment value, but Demspey seems to comment about it the most. One exception is when Nikolai receives one, his lines will often be negative.
Dempsey hates Quick Revive, as in Der Reise and Shi No Numa, he will say "I **** hate fish!", and in Kino Der Toten he furthers this saying "Tastes like fermented herrings dipped in cat piss bleugh".
Dempsey, like Richtofen, breaks the fourth wall by referencing that they are in a video game. When in Shi No Numa, after activating the music, he exclaims, "Is there an music easter egg in EVERY map now?"or "Wait, we ARE keeping score?!?" as a reference to the score counter, and sometimes when dempsy runs out of ammo he will say either "HEY! PLAYER! Quit screwing around and find me some ammo!" or "HEY PLAYER! Drop the chips and find some ammo for me!!"
His favorite Perk-a-cola seems to be Juggernog.
Dempsey is based around a stereotypical, exaggerated war hero.
Dempsey is voiced by Steve Blum, the voice of Captain Foley from Call of Duty.[2][3]
Dempsey bears a resemblance to Polonsky, although he appears to be slightly more muscular. This is just the result of the developers re-using existing character models.
Dempsey may be based off Commander Jack Dempsey, a championship boxer, who fought at Peleliu.
Though the player never sees him, Dempsey fought at Peleliu during the Marine landings.
It seems that Dempsey shows disrespect and a disapproving attitude towards Nikolai Belinski by ignoring all his compliments. This is probably because of the standard attitude of American soldiers toward Communists in World War II, and Nikolai, being of Soviet affiliation and the fact that Nikolai commonly expresses belief in the ideals.
Dempsey's name is possibly a reference to the movie Godfather, where there is a restaurant seen called "Jack Dempsey's Restaurant", being close to Tank Dempsey. Also, Jack Dempsey is a real character, as stated above.
He also seems to loathe Doctor Richtofen, mocking him throughout in Shi No Numa and Der Riese.
He seems to somewhat respect, to a limit, Takeo Masaki, despite the latter being affiliated with the Imperial Japanese Army.
Dempsey frequently comments on his hatred towards the Zombies. Common quotes include "Freakbag", "Meatsack", "Freaksack", or even, in Der Riese, "Freak-bag-meat-sacks". Other names include "maggot-whores", "puss-buckets", "bone monkey", "maggot-sack" and "gut-bag".
In Der Riese he may sometime yell "Nikolai/Takeo/Richtofen they're swarming, I'll come save you!" even when the player is not dead and there are only three or more zombies alive. This could be that he is mocking the others, as they all frequently do to each other. The animosity is much reduced between Shi No Numa and Der Riese, and none is shown between Takeo and Richtofen.
His favorite weapon seems to be the BAR, as it is American made. Interestingly, in Black Ops, his favorite weapon appears to be the M16. The M16 is also American made.
When Dempsey gets a headshot, he sometimes mentions the fact that they are not keeping score, but ironically, a headshot score is being kept. However, When getting a "Double Points" powerup, he comments "Wait, we ARE keeping Score?" This also refers to his quote in Call of Duty: World at War where he states that it's a good thing that they are not keeping score.
In online Nazi Zombies co-op games on Shi No Numa and Der Riese, the person who is the host will play as Dempsey. This is not the case anymore in Call of Duty: Black Ops, especially in the revamped versions.
Dempsey seems to like German heavy weaponry, such as the MG42.
Dempsey often calls the Wunderwaffe DG-2 the Wonder Waffle, which leads many players to do the same.
In one of his quotes in Der Riese he says: "Imagine that! We need to turn the power on; how original!", making a reference to the fact that, in Verrckt, you must turn on the power first, in order to use the Electro-Shock Defenses and the Perk-a-Cola machines. This is the same in Kino der Toten, as he may also say "It's like deja vu all over again."
Oddly, in Shi No Numa, Dempsey says "What in the world is a root beer shelf?" after purchasing the Double Tap Root Beer. This is odd as it is polite. He would normally say "what the hell" or "what the ****
According to Dr. Richtofen, Tank always tries to be the center of attention. Treyarch could've made Tank like this because the player hosting the game is Tank (Though this is no longer the case in Black Ops).
He apparently hates fish since when he drinks the Quick Revive soda in Der Riese and Shi No Numa he shouts "I **** hate fish!".
He also seems to hate teddy bears, as he occasionally says "I always hated frickin' teddy bears," when he gets the Teddy Bear from the Mystery Box, perhaps referencing the association between teddies and misfortune in CoD (one in Pripyat in CoD4, one with the HVI in Exodus in MW2 and these box bears)
Dempsey mentions at random "Who is this Dr. Maxis I keep hearing about?", meaning he does not know much of what is going on, but this is most likely due to his mind being wiped by the 115 as discovered in Black Ops.
Very rarely, whilst using the Pack-a-Punch machine, Dempsey will sing the jingle for the Juggernog vendor.
Dempsey was featured in Treyarch's Shi No Numa example map, nazi_zombie_kyassuru (nazi_zombie_castle in English).
Dempsey occasionally says "Gotta link up this terra.. er, tele... bah... machine," when he opens a teleporter room. Although, he sometimes says "Hmm... teleporter... Could be useful if we link 'em up," making him successfully say "teleporter" without struggling.
When Dempsey uses the Juggernog machine he will sometimes say "I'm always into Juggernog!"
When listening to the Juggernog song, he may say "God, I want to **** do that chick!" or "I wish I could meet the chick who sang that jingle!". Also in Kino der Toten he will say Reach for me Jugger-girl, oorah..'
Although usually expressing the standard love of the Wonder Weapons when he has them, he does express some disdain prior to acquiring them, such as "Why are the Krauts so interested in this energy shit? "****** don't like lead I guess," and "I still prefer lead over this electric shit,".
Dempsey is one of the first characters to break the fourth wall in the Call of Duty series as he speaks to the "player" when out of ammo. Though they all will at basically the same time when the Shi No Numa music egg is activated.
By Kino Der Toten, Dempsey has grown a small beard, and is covered in dirt and blood. This is probably because since the characters have teleported straight from map to map, they have not been able to shave or clean themselves.
On the terminal in Black Ops a secret file says that Dempsey was sent in with the Marines into Verruckt to recover Peter (The hanging man from Shi No Numa) who was undercover in Group 935. They were sent because their attempts at contact failed. The file states"We fear that *Peter's* identity has been compromised. Sending in a marine recon unit to extract *Peter* from the asylum before it is too late. Operation leader will be one *Tank Dempsey*... 'The asylum must be contained at all costs."
One quote that Tank has for the M16 is a description of it. This is odd, as the M16 was never in service in World War II, and had only just been released in the 1960s the present era that Dempsey was only just recently transported to. Fittingly enough however Dempsey does mention that he thinks the M16 will become a classic some day, which is an obvious reference to how in real life it has been in circulation for 50 years now and is still used as a basis for assault rifles even today.
In a file on the Black Ops computer terminal, it says that in part of Dr. Maxis' super-soldier experiments were Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, and Takeo Masaki.
Dempsey's character was possibly based off Steve Blum's character Cliff Hudson in Dead Rising. Cliff was an American soldier, he and Dempsey both seem to dislike communists and the model used for the character of Cliff in Dead Rising looks very similar to that of Dempsey in World at War and Black Ops.
Two of Dempsey's favorite things to do is to get paid and kill things. This can be heard in one of his quotes while the player(s) have Double Points activated.
Nikolai Belinski
For the WWII Russian tank commander, see Nikolai Badanov. For the Loyalist helicopter pilot, see Nikolai.
"Stay away from my vodka!!"
Nikolai
Russian soldier who fought in World War II. He appears in Shi No Numa and Der Riese in World at War, but in Black Ops he appears in all four original zombie maps, as well as Kino der Toten and will also be appearing in the new upcoming Zombie map, Ascension. He is voiced by Fred Tatasciore.
"Stalin himself cannot stare Nikolai in the eye, no one can. For in his eyes you see the soul of a man burning with a hatred of all things living. His closet is full of skeletons, many of them with the flesh still attached. Before the war, Nikolai quickly made his way up through the party ranks by killing the next man in line, and by marrying politically. His aspirations all came crashing down after his fifth wife mysteriously died while cleaning Nikolais axe with her neck. Little did he know that she had been sleeping with a high ranking party official on the side. After her tragic demise, Nikolais reputation spread quickly through the party, and it wasnt long before Stalin himself had heard about the psychopathic politician who killed anything that came within 5 feet of him. As soon as the war started, Nikolai was dropped at the front line and forgotten about, where he wallowed in self pity and Vodka for several years. With many weapons in his arsenal, not least of which is his breath, Nikolai Belinski can look death in the eye and say 'I know you'."
Nikolai's Bio added in with Map Pack 3[1]
Nikolai's reason for fighting the zombies is currently unknown. It may never be discovered as his memory was wiped by Element 115 as detailed by a document from Vbush. He, Takeo, and Dempsey are being observed by Richtofen. How he remembers his wives if this is the case is something of a mystery.
Looking from his quotes, Nikolai is an alcoholic and likes vodka.
In Blood and Iron, when Dimitri Petrenko enters the train, the player will see two figures similar to Nikolai. One of them is probably Chernov, while the other one could be Nikolai. However, when he exits the train in Ring of Steel, there is only Chernov on the right. The other figure is nowhere to be found. He might have exited the train before reaching Pankow.
The PPSh-41 seems to be his weapon of choice.
Nikolai is the only Soviet character heard cursing in English through out the entire game (besides Reznov occasionally cursing in Russian in "Vendetta" and "Heart of the Reich").
The player controlling Nikolai will have their point color as blue.
Nikolai seems to be the comic relief of Shi No Numa and Der Riese. He is constantly referring to Communism, Vodka, and Russia in his quotes.
One of Nikolai's quotes in the zombie map Shi No Numa when he gets a sniper rifle (or rarely the PPSh-41), is "Vasili would be proud". It may refer to the Call of Duty 2 character, Vasili Koslov, but it is more likely a reference to the famous Russian sniper, Vasili Zaytsev.
Another one of Nikolai's quotes in Shi No Numa when he gets a headshot is "Holy shit, did you see that **** head come apart?", this is a reference to a line from Platoon, a 1986 War film set in Vietnam. Call of Duty: World at War has been known for referring to Platoon before.
It is currently unknown why or how he was in the middle of a swamp in the Pacific. Possibly he was dropped at the front lines to end the Zombie threat or maybe was part of Operation August Storm, Soviet Union's invasion of the Japanese-controlled Manchuria. This attack is mentioned in Max Brook's "The Zombie Survival Guide" this story is related to the Nazis' attempt to control zombies.
It is interesting that Nikolai always pairs up with Richtofen in the trailers, as they are direct enemies. As being Russian/German, and completely hating each other in-game.
Nikolai seems to have no respect for Takeo Masaki, as in Der Riese, he makes quotes such as "We should watch Takeo, there's something wrong with that boy" or "Maybe Takeo is a zombie, I mean, how can you tell?" Also in Kino der Toten, if the player holds the action button in front of Takeo's portrait, he will say "I hate you Takeo."
Additionally he may say "You're a walking **** cliche, Takeo" with a joke lying in the hypocrisy of this statement being said by the patriotic, blind-stinking drunk, communism supporting Russian.
Before the war, he was apparently a Carpenter, because when the player gets the Carpenter power up, he says "I used to be a carpenter", which explains, somewhat, why he owned an axe but in Kino der Toten, he says "Please I have no job" when he does not have enough money to buy a gun.
He commonly makes quotes about vodka, like I'm almost out of vodka, I mean, ammo along with saying Pack-a-punch. Oh my God I think it makes vodka, and Oh look a distillery. Oh wait it's just a teleporter feeding to a common stereotype that Russians are heavy vodka drinkers.
His hobby was apparently hunting, or he just carried two jobs before the war, as one of his quotes when he gets the Teddy bear is "In Russia, I kill bears TEN TIMES your size!".
Nikolai seems to be the only one of the playable characters who does not directly disrespect Dempsey. In fact Dempsey seems to be the only character Nikolai respects as he often comments Dempsey's actions with phrases like 'Ura! The Marines' Dempsey!' 'Ura Tank! Destroy them! ' and 'Right here with you Tank!' Dempsey on the other hand does not seem to notice this and completely ignores Nikolai. Except in the Shi No Numa Trailer When He Says:"Shut up Nikolai and get your gear on!".
There appears to be writing on Nikolai's bag, and upon closer inspection, it says Nikolai's Vodka.
Dr. Richtofen calls Nikolai his Cossack comrade or friend. A possible reason for this is that Richtofen likes Nikolai because he murdered his wives brutally.
Rarely, Nikolai will sing the jingle for Quick Revive when using the Pack-a-Punch Machine.
Nikolai is apparently a Cossack, as one of his quotes are "This is not a good weapon for a Cossack!" Also, Richtofen refers to him as his "Cossack friend."
It seems that Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen all hate each other, but one of the bigger friendships lies between Richtofen and Nikolai.
Because he has a Polish surname, some have suggested he may come from a Polish background. This is possible because in the late 1700s Poland was divided between Russia, Prussia, and Austria, with it only becoming free after World War I. This is also backed by his pronunciation of the word "vodka." He pronounced it "wodka," much like the Star Trek character Chekov.
Apparently, Nikolai knows that he is in a game, much like Dempsey. When the player who is playing as Nikolai activates the Dead Air Achievement/Trophy, he will say: "Another musical easter egg. I like this!"
When playing as Nikolai and getting the Carpenter bonus, the player will sometimes hear him say, "I've got a hammer, now get me a sickle!" This is referring to the Soviet Union's symbol, the hammer and the sickle.
Whenever Nikolai kills a zombie by knifing, he says a line. Knifing many zombies during insta kill can result in him saying over 4 lines simultaneously.
Nikolai uses the same character model as Chernov, although he looks older in Nazi Zombies.
Sometimes, when buying the Bowie Knife, he will say "Good strong Russian steel", although it is invented and manufactured in America.
If the player has a Panzerschreck with ammo in the red (3 or 4) he will say at least 7 lines simultaneously
Occasionally, on the level "Ring of Steel" in the Campaign Mode, immediately after exiting the train, look to the left; There may be a soldier named Sgt. Belinski. This soldier wears the same uniform as Nikolai, so it may be the same soldier. This is most probably an easter egg put in by Treyarch. So far, Nikolai makes his only campaign appearance in "Ring of Steel" (and it possibly is not even him).
He is a father, as he says: "My daughter loved that **** bear." But he does show some hatred to teddy bears. An example is when he gets the teddy bear from the Mystery Box he will say "I have been humiliated by child's toy."
In Kino der Toten he has fingerless gloves in 1st person view but in 3rd person he has no gloves.
In Black Ops, his first-person character model is the same as Alex Mason's first person model in the level Vorkuta.
Whenever Nikolai buys a weapon off the wall or Mystery Box he will sometimes say "I got 99 problems but a gun ain't one!" possibly referring to rapper Jay-Z's song 99 Problems
One of Nikolai"s new quotes is said without a Russian accent, and it does not even sound like him. This could be a dubbing problem. The quote is 'His head's at crotch level, do not get excited Dempsey."
During 115 in Kino Der Toten, Nikolai will sometimes sing along to one of the verses in his own version of that part.
In Kino der Toten Nikolai has a bandage on his arm, indicating he is injured.
Nikolai at one time in his life either lived or worked on a pig farm, as when he receives/buys a poor weapon, he will sometimes say "There were better weapons on my pig farm."
Nikolai has a sister, as sometimes in Kino der Toten, he will say "You shoot like my little sister, Takeo!"
Sometimes he will call a zombie a comrade, such as when getting a headshot he may say "A toast to our headless comrade."
He was married at least 5 times, and murdered at least 4 of them.
It appears that Nikolai grew a full beard at the preview of Ascension.
Takeo Masaki
was a soldier of the Imperial Japanese Army, as seen in Call of Duty: World at War. He appears in Shi No Numa and Der Riese in Call of Duty World at War, but in Call of Duty: Black Ops he appears in Kino der Toten as well as all four original zombie maps and will be appearing in the new upcoming Zombie map, Ascension. He is voiced by Tom Kane.
Takeo's personality can best be subscribed as being the most serious person in the group.
He rarely makes jokes, instead he's very serious and straight-forward.
Very little is known about Takeo. However, he is shown as a loyal, Imperial Captain and is one of the four soldiers fighting off the Zombie horde. It is unknown how he feels fighting against his undead brothers, but is shown fighting them off. He is the least seen of the four soldiers in the Shi No Numa trailer.
Tattooed on the inside of Takeos eyelids is the Japanese proverb Life is light when compared to honor. For Takeo, life has no meaning if not to perfect ones discipline and to reveal a warriors true character and honor. He ponders this and other philosophical questions as his Katana slices through the flesh and sinew of his enemy.
Takeo was born into wealth. His family dynasty dates back several centuries, and throughout that time they have been highly decorated Samurai and Bushi. Takeo is no exception to this celebrated bloodline. When the family first saw the young, life-filled 5 year old Takeo playing in the street with his Katana and slicing the tails off terrified kittens, they knew he was destined to bring honor to the Masaki name.
The war was a perfect opportunity for Takeo to explore his blood-lust and study the nature of those less honorable than himself. If you fall victim to his swift action and might, know that you have helped a man better than you reach enlightenment[1]
It was discovered that Takeo had a piece of his memory wiped from Element 115, and is currently being observed by Richtofen who knows about the mind wiping.
In Black Ops, Takeo's appearance has become slightly different. Now he has a mustache and a few wrinkles under his eyes. But the rest of his appearance is fairly the same.
Takeo is a Captain, as shown on his wrist cuff insignia[citation needed].
If Dempsey sees Takeo stabbing a zombie to death, he remarks, "You could have just put a smoke into his eye...", and he also says, "I'm surprised you didn't torture him first." referencing to the officer that put a smoke into Pyle's left eye on the campaign mission 'Semper Fi', suggesting that Dempsey was part of the Marine Raiders who attacked Makin Atoll, or this could be a joke about Japanese interrogation methods in World War II.
Doctor Richtofen and Takeo Masaki are the only playable Axis soldiers in singleplayer. This not just in Call of Duty: World at War, but in all of the Call of Duty series as well.
Takeo always seems to team up with Dempsey in the trailers even if they are direct enemies, and even more oddly, Dempsey displays some respect for him.
Takeo respects Richtofen, probably because both Takeo and Richtofen fought on the Axis side.
Like Dr. Richtofen, Takeo seems to have no respect for Tank Dempsey. In Der Riese when he runs out of ammo he will say "My gun is like Dempsey's head. Empty!" Also while examining Dempsey's portrait in Kino Der Toten he will say "Here is a picture of an ugly American! Eugh!" This would make sense as Dempsey is affiliated with the U.S. Marine Raiders, however Dempsey still respects him. The reason for this is unknown.
Takeo seems to be the quietest member of the team, because he rarely ever says anything. He is also the most serious of the group, and seemingly never resorts to sarcasm.
Takeo carries an unusable katana on his character model.
Takeo's bio picture has his face facing the opposite way from Richtofen, Nikolai, and Dempsey.
Many people think that Takeo's skin is based on the first Japanese officer the player sees in the game in when in fact, his skin comes from the enemy NPC Japanese officer.
Takeo seems to despise Nikolai, as most of his interactive quotes revolve around insulting the Russian.
Takeo makes a direct reference to the boxer, Manny Pacquiao where states, "You will feel the wrath of Pacquiao..! And then some..."
Takeo appears to have a preference for SMG type weapons, as when he gains/uses them, he sometimes states: "Ahh.. .a small weapon, very dangerous, just like me."
Takeo only seems to have one quote referring to a weapon from his home country. When out of ammo in Kino der Toten, he will sometimes say "I'm still better off than with the Arisaka.".
The player will know that they are Takeo when their point counter color is yellow.
In Black Ops, his first-person character model is the same as of the NVA character model.
In Kino Der Toten, when playing as Takeo, turning on the power will Takeo say "Oh!.. Sounds like a big monster is attacking the building!". This is a strong reference to Godzilla, a very famous Japanese monster.
Edward Richtofen
"Don't be afraid of death. Be afraid of the doctor!"
Doctor Richtofen on real fear
Doctor Edward Richtofen is a sociopathic Nazi scientist who invented the Wunderwaffe DG-2 and often loves to torture and kill his various victims. He appears in Shi No Numa and in Der Riese in Call of Duty: World at War, but in Call of Duty: Black Ops he appears in all four original zombie maps, as well as appearing in Kino der Toten and will also be appearing in the new upcoming Zombie map, Ascension. He is voiced by Nolan North.
"Beware The Doc". This message was scrawled across walls of every town under Axis control. "Starvation may cripple you, dysentery may wreck you, and gunfire may rip the flesh from your bones, but Beware The Doc".
Meet Dr. Richtofen, known affectionately as The Butcher to his victims as they scream in agony moments before he snuffs out their light. Throughout his career, Richtofen has always been at the forefront of torture and information extraction research. Before the war he was a back alley plastic surgeon, who created an army of monstrous affluent Weimar socialites that would follow him around and laugh at every joke the genius doctor made. This all fell apart when the republic fell and the Nazi party took control. To Richtofen, their values were too moral, too liberal for his liking. He joined the army so he could satisfy his need to watch people die, slowly.
An incurable sociopath, he sees no moral distinction between natural death and murder. The victim is the victim, regardless of how their demise manifests itself.
He has a collection of stuffed animals, most of them posed in positions of terror at the instant of their death.
Edward Richtofen worked with Doctor Maxis on various experiments at Der Riese. Maxis was testing zombies for a government project christened "Der Riese". He would send humans through teleporters, but they would always appear at the mainframe as zombies. Maxis attempted to control them, but they would always try to kill him, resulting in their deaths.
According to the Central Intelligence Agency Data System, Richtofen witnessed tests run on Tank Dempsey, Takeo Masaki and Nikolai Belinski. Doctor Maxis recorded that the three have shown "unique side effects" to the experiments. Maxis records that their baseline psyche "remains intact", but all "specific memories" are lost.
One day, Richtofen and Maxis were testing the effects of a teleporter on Samantha's dog, Fluffy. The dog was teleported, but reappeared at the Mainframe as a Hellhound. When Samantha entered the room questioning Maxis about the dog, Richtofen left the room. He then locked Maxis and Samantha in the room with the Hellhound, which killed them. Richtofen then released the zombies on Der Riese.
In "Shi No Numa", it is noted that if the player goes to the book case in the doctor's quarters, there will be demonic laughter if the 'use' button is held on the books. In "Der Riese", when somebody plays as Richtofen and gets a kill, the same laugh can be heard from Richtofen.
Doctor Richtofen created the Wunderwaffe DG-2, shown by his exclamation when he receives it. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 was planned to be mass produced and fielded to German soldiers.
In Black Ops, Richtofen uses the same first person character model as Hudson during Rebirth. In World at War, his model had bare hands and arms (the same as all other characters).
He was one of the scientists responsible for originally creating the Zombies, and often refers to them as 'minions' or 'children'. He is also mentioned in the message sent to Peter.
His name suggests that he belongs to the aristocratic family in Prussia.
His name may have been inspired by the legendary German World War I flying ace Baron Manfred von Richthofen, more commonly known as the Red Baron.
He could also be inspired from the Nazi Doctor Josef Mengele, a physician at the death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau also known as the "Angel of Death".
Doctor Richtofen is apparently part of the mythical group, the Illuminati (see quotes).
Doctor Richtofen apparently dislikes the British, as when Dempsey gets a killstreak or a series of headshots he sometimes says "you thought he was British, Ja?".
Given the facts that Doctor Richtofen is a scientist and helped create the Wunderwaffe DG-2, he may be a member of the Schutzstaffel (SS or "Protection Squad", despite donning a Wehrmacht officer's uniform), much like Dr. Werner von Braun, the creator of the V-2 missile and Saturn V rocket.
He is said to look like the German that kicks Dimitri in "Their Land, Their Blood", though he is actually based off General Amsel from Vendetta, as evidenced by his similar facial features and Wehrmacht general's uniform.
He seems to like dogs as he shows remorse when he kills them, possibly because he is behind their creation (see quotes).
Richtofen has a disturbing love of killing, maiming, torture and excessive gore, as heard by his quotes. He likely has a pain fetish.
He always compliments Nikolai even though they are direct enemies, though he looks down upon everyone (including Nikolai) due to them swiftly killing their opponents.
When playing as Richtofen in Der Reise, if the player receives a Wunderwaffe DG-2, he claims that "he feels aroused".
Richtofen's point color is green.
Apparently Richtofen is schizophrenic, due to the fact of some of his quotes in Shi No Numa, like: "NO! THE VOICES! STOP!" or "Do you hear it? Talking to me?" this could be where his insanity comes from, and this could also be why he killed Dr. Maxis and Samantha, as the voices in his head may have ordered him to kill them. Alex Mason is in a similar situation where Reznov's voice tells him to kill Dragovich, Kravchenko and Steiner.
Under Richtofen's right eye is a scar. This scar is not in Shi No Numa, so he most likely got it fighting in Shi No Numa.
The German multiplayer skin for sub-machine gunners look a lot like Richtofen.
The laugh in the bookcase in the Doctor's Quarters is the same when Richtofen gets the PPSh-41 from the mystery box. This could mean that Richtofen could have used that hut at some point.
The Docter's Quarters may be the place were Richtofen went mad, as the laugh heard suggest's.
Richtofen's bio picture has his name on the opposite side of the picture from the other characters.
Richtofen refers to the Wunderwaffe even if he does not get it, such as when getting the Browning/MG (Wunderbar, need Wunderwaffe. Wunderwaffe!)
According to his quotes, Richtofen apparently tries to hide his history away from the other characters, especially in Der Riese, where he most likely worked at some point (example: He says "Ahh, it is still here! Err . . . I mean . . . What is this strange device?" whenever he approaches a deactivated Teleporter).
On the iPhone/iPod Touch version of Nazi Zombies, Richtofen (who is less insane in this incarnation) instructs the player through the tutorial before becoming a zombie, having been badly injured (and obviously infected).
Richtofen appears to have a large hatred for both Dempsey and his voice, and he quotes, "Dempsey, I hate your ugly voice."
Richtofen breaks the fourth wall by referencing the scoring system, as he quotes "You shoot so much but score so little!" When he gets Double Points, he may say, "More score!"
Richtofen may sometimes structure sentences oddly, such as, "Ich bein angry!" (I am angry!).
Sometimes when Pack-a-Punching, he sings the Double Tap jingle.
Occasionally on the PC version he may say "Blondi? Is that you?" possibly referring to Hitler's dog, meaning he could have met Hitler's dog or Hitler himself.
Also in Der Riese at the bottom of the staircase is a picture of a zombie and in the bottom left hand corner of that picture it says Dr. K Blondi when Richtofen says "Blondi? Is that you?" He could be referring to that person being turned into a zombie.
In Call of Duty: Black Ops, various paintings are hung on the walls in the Zombie level Kino der Toten. These paintings are of Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo and Nikolai.
When subtitles are turned on for Kino Der Toten, Richtofen's name is misspelled as "Richtofan' when the singleplayer movie plays on the Xbox 360 but is spelled correctly on the PS3.
In Kino Der Toten, Richtofen seems to want zombies' kidneys for an unknown reason.
So far, Edward is the only playable German in Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: World at War.
After exiting the elevator in the level Vorkuta, if the player looks at the books on the floor, one will say "Edward Richtofen" on the cover.
Richtofen's quote: "This is much better than my Hitler Youth Knife" (Added with the Black Ops classic zombie DLC) is quite intriguing as Richtofen almost certainly would have been far too old to join the organization at any point in its existence. He may have been a leader or teacher in the Hitler Youth; or may have received one of these knives as a gift.
In one of the loading screens (the one with the combat clips) there looks to be a half a second where it shows Edward Richtofen downed.
Apparently his favorite SMG is the MP-40 as he will say, "Of course they have the best weapon ever made!" when buying it. It is quite possibly his favorite gun (aside from the Wunderwaffe of course)
His quote, "Suffer little children," is a reference to a song by the Smiths of the same name.
In the Black Ops version of Verruckt, some of the books on the shelves in the left starting room have "Edward Richtofen" written on the spine, similar to other books found throughout Black Ops.
Richtofen seems to have a particular liking to hellhounds, as he says in Kino der Toten, "The dogs, we must help them." This is probably because he feels guilty for trapping Samantha and Dr. Maxis in a room with a hellhound.
From a part of his entry heard during the singleplayer start menu of Kino der Toten, it can be concluded that Richtofen did not know that the Teleporters were capable of time travel. This is from the entry; "Who would have thought the MDT was capable of time travel? How many stations are there?"
In Kino Der Toten, Richtofen quotes, "Ja ja (yes yes) the power needs to go on," referencing the power requirement that is common in Zombie mode.
Richtofen bears a resemblance to Colonel Vogel from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
In World at War, Richtofen's hat is green, but in Black Ops it's grey.
Richtofen's new outfit seems to resemble a type of flight suit.

You know you can't play 4-Player split screen, right?
You just made yourself look like a retard.
And obviously no 5-Players, would be inhumanely easy.
