Ok so which is better intel i5/7 or amd?

Building a desktop and sort of stuck i'm not really sure which processor to buy torn between intel i5 or 7 or amd which is better? im also looking for a decent graphics card?

I'll be using this setup mostly for editing videos, general surfing and downloading.

hmm thats a tuff one if your looking for gameing look for a gc with at least 2 gigs and look at the aleinware that will give you a genral idea of what gc to get.

Alienware is for people that arent on a budget, they are the most powerful for a reason...they are also overpriced extremely

If you are on a budget go with AMD, if not you want an i7 extreme =] double overclock is always a plus also.

its a bit cheaper to build everything on your own, but if you must buy premade, try a site that sells bundles for the best ideas.

if u live in uk access [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] they offer loads of help and advice on what's what plus i've purchased alot from this site and no problem at all, when i went pick up my parts the guy even offered help me build mine.

but the i5 sounds alright, but it does depend on what u what this beast to do

an i5 will do that very nicely, no worries, but an i7 is the next step up, and then the i7 extreme is an overclocked.

but for what you need the i5 will do just fine
