There is no possible way they could know if you modded the maps for free.

They can detect if you haven't bought them on that account but for all they know you have just gona and bought them on a different account on your xbox.

I'm fed up of seeing these fukin idiot posting stuff saying you can get banned.

-Map Pack = NO! (only one guy said he got banned no one else so dont believe it)

-Infections= Permanent ban

But it all depends because it sounds like you're talking about the Black Ops Servers.
More than 10 people have been banned for the whole map pack ordeal. You're illegally getting maps for free. Keyword on "illegal".
Taking infections online before they got patched resulted in a 48-hour ban from the BO Servers, not XBL itself, without a reset, thankfully.

If you didn't notice, 3arc at one point said they were becoming linked w/ M$, so if you did something SO bad in there game they'd report it to M$. Once again, getting the maps for free with everyone's method IS illegal, which means it is VERY serious and does need to be consulted with M$.

I didnt got banned and played all day long yesterday my info number didnt change neither.

Isn't there a sticky with proof that a member of TTG got ban for modding the map pack.

Do you know how smart M$ and 3arc are? It's as easy as breathing to detect if you're playing on un-payed for Maps. It's almost as detectable as Jtags being online were before the Dash update.

oh gawd u do realise that u get banned from XBL for infections now...

this sticky is true you do NOT get ban i did the xbox licence transfer and it worked, ive had it sense the add on came out and no ban

They have the ability to check your download history, so if you are playing the maps, and they aren't in your download history, then you got them from another source.

so if you do the license transfer and play on another account, you wont get banned
