I'm starting to mess around in photoshop, and I know I suck and it's not the best, but I would like for you guys to give me some advice on what I could do better or not do.

I don't care to much for movement. Flashy avatars and sigs looks crappy to me. Slow animation like scan lines and a few others I think can look good if you do them right and I know I couldn't do them right at the moment.

Maybe tone down the outer swirl and your sorted.

Yeah, I was thinking that some of the outer stuff could've been toned down some and I wanted to brighten the center a little more but I thought of all this after I posted it.
