So i have a fairly nice car and people seem to like to touch it and it really irritates me so i installed a pretty sensitive Compustar car alarm and you cant touch my car to hard or the alarm goes off and is extremely annoying as it has 2 seperate syrens. Anyways, the impact sensor is located near the front of the car and people seem to think its funny now to hit my car with their hand to set off the alarm. People have been hitting it fairly hard and iv been starting to notice small indents along my entire car, especially on the back quarter panels where its its a bit harder to set off the alarm. I am getting very frustrated with this and have talked to the body shop, its going to cost a ridiculous amount to repair these little indents from people hitting the car so i now have a motion detection 1080P, 30FPM DVR in the car so i can see who the hell is damaging my vehicle. But what i am wondering is, when i do catch the people doing this what can i do about it? I will gladly walk up and punch them in the face and tell them they are paying but i think there may be a better way to make an example of someone. I was wondering if theres anyway i can charge the person with damage to property or something like that or possibly even sue them? I am from Canada so im not really sure what laws are for that stuff. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know as i dont have the $1600 i was quoted to repair all the damage to my car from people hitting it and would really like whoever is damaging my car to have to pay for it. It is NOT funny to set off my alarm and definitely NOT funny to damage my vehicle.
Alright found some info on this finally, i believe i have 2 years to act upon any damages. The person can be charged for all the damages and have to owe me up to the amount of damage caused as well and can face up to 14 years of prison depends on how severe the damage and if it threatened any life. So i believe i could be able to charge the person with damage to personal property and have them pay for the damages and then also sue them for damage to personal property for up to about $1600.00
Anyone verify if that sounds correct?

lol thanks but seriously, any thoughts about this? its a nice car, i enter it in car shows all the time, fresh candy red paint on it but now it starting to look like it was caught in some kind of hail storm. The indents are extermely noticable but they are fairly easy to see.

Im pretty sure you can contact the police and get them charged, they have damaged your car dude, it is pretty much vandalism.
Im not sure about suing them, i don't know how that would go down, but im pretty sire when these people get caught, you could mention the cost and maybe the people who done it will have to pay ?
hope that helps in anyway

you should press charges for property damage, or just punch them in the face
