Hey guys, im not really here to force my opinion on any one or encourage any one to rebel or drop out of high school. I am simply stating my opinion because I feel many of you may feel the same.

Now I feel the high school educational system is garbage and a load of crap. Honestly what do they teach you? What do they really teach you? I mean sure they do help give you the basic tools you will need in life but really let's face it, its a waste. Don't get me wrong im not some poor lazy shmuck who wants to free load off mommy and daddy till im 28 and drop out because im to lazy to work. On the contrary I love learning, I love knowing things and knowing what's going on in the world and why but I feel the way the education system is it ttys to rip all that motivation out of you and make you" educate" your self by their rules and what "they" think is best for you. Im planning on dropping out soon and getting my GED because im pretty much not going to make it through high school, why? Because all teachers do is throw you a packet of work and a pencil and say here ya go... now I get 90s on almost any test in school giving to me but I still flunk classes.. why? Because teachers give you so much un needed home work and all of them added up over ride your actual intelligence on the subject just because you choose not to do it. Now some might say well home work will teach the child responsibility... well that's nice and all but I believe that's the parents job not a teachers which is another reason why I think kids disrespect for teachers has increased, because they try to tell you what to do more then teach you. Now school may work for some of you and that's great, but for some it does not, and for that I think there should be a choice between going to school and just attending classes to listen and take notes on your own to prepare your self the way you feel is best. I feel the governments really neglect this issue because they feel that there way is the proper way. Now like I said some of you may think school is the best way for you to learn and that's great but I feel majority would benefit from what I think.

P.s I know I have neg rep.. its because I like it. So please, no ignorant comments about it and please no flaming other peoples thought and morals

Hey there...

You could've at least said what Year/Grade you were in and what kind of subjects you've picked.

I completely agree with you on the homework I mean it just makes you hate school even more, Learning's supposed to be done at school not at home, and you get distracted by all the stuff at home so the hw wouldn't be useful at all. But like the others said when you get to college it gets much easier because you can pick only one subject of interest which sounds good, i.e. pick computing for 2 years and you get some kind of Diploma equivelant to A-Levels. But if you look into it some of the stuff is quite useful to learn, you learn all this so when you get older you have quite a lot of options, say if you just studied computing now your whole life you might change your mind and not do anything related to computing etc.

Everything you do in History might be interesting for some, and even if it's not it's basically there so we can read the articles and then write them down in a workbook which shows that you can understand stuff and rephrase them.

Geography: You will know what's going around the world, how the weather system works, farming etc.

Maths: To get your brain to work

Science: Chemistry > Medicine
Biology > Physical education and medicine
English: Journalist
Other languages: To work in other countries

and so on...

Suck it up? No I wont.. unlike most people in this world I don't try and do school because its" required" and the GED is the SA,e as a high school diploma it only looks different tho colleges and I only plan on a community college any way. And maybe your friends dropped out for the wrong reasons such as dropping out purley of lazzyness or because they just don't like learning.. me I love learning and im dropping out so I can better my education and life so im not stuck in a high school shoving and memorizing things in my head
