Now before I start please be aware that this is just a theory and in no way is it an official thing, just a theory.
Now before we start there was an important question that stuck out for me...
And you need to know this to understand what i am saying:

Now before we start there was an important question that stuck out for me...
Why does Mason still assassinate JFK if Reznov sabotaged the "brainwashing," because according to the dates mason assassinated JFK after Reznov sabotaged it?
And you need to know this to understand what i am saying:

Ok so heres my theory (called Boss Theory)...
In the normal (mainstream) storyline, Reznov, as we all know sabotaged Masons brainwashing to instead of killing JFK kills Dragovich, Krevchenko, and Stiener, helps Mason escape out of a brutal USSR prison camp and dies during the escape. However, Reznov is still "projected" through Mason's mind thoughout the Campaign. However, it has been discovered that what the discoverer calls "Maverick's Code" reveals that Reznov may in fact be alive and with you throughout the campaign...
Now, while I was taking a shower i was thinking about this and I came up with a pretty decent theory which could very likely be true, what if Reznov was working with Dragovich? Before you flame think about it... I'm going to organize my support in numbers, and here, we, go...
1. The US wanted Dragovich, Krevchenko, Stiener, and/or Clarke alive so that they could abort the launch of the NOVA gas, but if they were all dead, and the launch was imminent, how could they stop it??
2. That would explain why Mason still was the 2nd assassin at the JFK assassination, as a little extra to the plan...
3. Reznov working for Dragovich. Think about this. If Reznov wasn't dead throughout the Campaign, he tries ALOT to persuade Mason that he didn't need the US and that Dragovich, Krevchenko, and Stiener all must die. What if he was the key to the whole plan? Vorkuta: the guards purposely let Reznov and Mason break free from prison so Mason could go and kill everyone and so the guards could kill some prisoners and make the prison cheaper to uphold. Then, in The Defector, you can see the real defector with one bullet through his head, with Reznov saying he is the true Defector (possibly to earn everyone's trust?, He either faked or "changed" the story of the ww2 flashback, ect.
4. I can't think of these right now O.o i'm tired, its like 1am but i had like 5 other supporting arguments...

No. Reznov would not have worked along side Dragovich and have brainwashed Mason to kill the 3 antagonists for these reasons...
1. There would be the chance that Mason would have killed them before the launch making the entire plot of the game useless.
2. Would Dragovich and CO. really want to brainwash someone to kill them?
3. If Dragovich and Co. wanted to die after the launch, they could just shoot themselves instead of trying to brainwash a dude for months.
4. Reznov was fixated on killing the antagonists for revenge only. Dragovich killed Dmitri and tried to kill Reznov. Do you really think that Reznov would then join forces with Dragovich after that?
I respect your attempt but too much logical stuff prevents anything from being "considered".
Now if you really want a big WTF to the series, in MW2, why do the Russians automatically go to war with America? Because they saw a dead American body at the airport where thousands were killed. But how did Makarov and his friends get away with this? It was in an airport filled with security cameras. Plus Makarov was not even wearing a mask. His infamous identity was completely out there in the open while a dead American can hardly look like a terrorist (more like a police man who was killed. he was all alone you know).
Seriously, the COD series absolutely blows at campaigns. If it weren't for all the retarded children who think that this is a good shooter, the series would be left in the dust. OP, if you are looking for a REAL shooter with a good story, gameplay, and everything, try Metal Gear Solid.
