"Doing good in school is not that hard. Its actually quite easy. Now I know that some people are smarter than others and I've always been in the smarter bunch, but I do believe that everyone is capable of getting good grades in both high school and college.
Doing good in a class typically comes down to one things; doing good on the tests. How good you do on the test is not dependent on your studying before the tests, but on how you prepare each day as you learn the content. Learning the content is the most crucial step and the step that most people mess up on the most.
The first thing you should do before you go into any class and try to figure the subject is read on the subject. If you know your instructor is going to be lecturing over chapter one on Monday, then on Sunday night you should probably read chapter 1 and familiarize yourself with the vocabulary words. If you do this then you will be more aware of what the instructor is talking about and it will help you learn the material. Most people let the instructor explain things to them for the first time. This is totally wrong. You should attempt to learn the content on your own and then use the instructors lecture to get clarification on any information you read that you were not sure about.
Once you have read the chapter, studied the vocabulary words you are ready to go to class. In class you can do a couple different things depending on how you learn. If you are a visual learner than be sure to write down everything the instructor does so you can see it. If you are an auditory learner it is ok to not take notes. Just sit and listen. In most classes I recommend taking notes so that you have what the instructor said on paper since some instructors test on their material and not the books.
After you leave class you should have a pretty solid understanding of the concept. Just review the vocabulary words and go over any key concepts when you get home and they will be practically engrained in your head. Then begin learning the next chapter and repeat the process.
Since you will already have a very solid understanding of the information, preparing for the test will be slightly easier than usual. The main things you will want to do are look back over your notes. Make sure you go over the vocabulary words and preferably have them memorized and also look over the key ideas for each chapter.
The main reason I stress knowing the vocabulary words so much is that most questions on tests require you to know the vocabulary. Some questions are very direct and say things like, what does this word mean? To answer that you have to know the definition. Other times, it will be the same thing just more indirect. Either way, the key to doing good in class is reading the material before you listen to the lecture on it and learning the vocabulary. Good luck in your courses."

Or actually just pay attention and quit texting in class :stern:
I pay attention in class, go home, play cod for a while, eat dinner, go outside for like an hour, don't do HW (do it in school right after they hand it out) don't study, and still come out with B+'s and A's.
