Can you get the error code?
Hold the controller sync button in and press the eject button 4 times.

My JTAG won't even so much as turn on?
Power brick light is yellow/orange(standby)
But when I hit power nothing happens? I think it's missing an electrolytic capacitor off the mobo. Can you tell me if this could be the problem? Here's a pic:

See the little round spot on the mobo that's just empty?
P.S. It's a xenon.
P.S.S an electrolytic capacitor are those black can-shaped things.
P.S.S.S do you think I could resurrect it from the dead by putting in a new cap?

I'm sorry man, but it looks like you lifted the pad. (Very difficult to restore)
I could give you reasons why, but it'd just be a waste of time. Here's a great link that i learned knowledge on.

You mean the default_mp.xex correct?
If so,
-Here's link Downloads/id=940/mw2-default_mpxex.html
-From your computer take it and move it to the root of your usb.
-Plug usb into jtag and go into xex menu.
-Press "X" and select USB1
-Click and copy default_mp.xex
-Then go into the directory of Mw2 saved on your hard drive
-And paste and confirm.
Then start the game, make sure to have the correct patch, just search for it 8) If you really need me to find it, just PM me....

Usually when a capacitor is removed the pad comes with it, making it a dead board. If you can find a capacitor it may work seeing how it worked in the past with out one.

No, downgrading a dashboard is not possible. The latest exploitable kernel ::
Finding the Kernel Version:
In the dashboard go to System Settings then go to Console Settings then scroll down to System Info. Your kernel version is shown here. In this picture the 360 has the 8955 kernel applied. This console is not vulnerable.
Kernel Vulnerability:
8498 and Higher - Any console with a kernel 8498 and higher have been patched to stop the hack.
7371 and lower - Any console with the 7371 kernel or a lower version of the kernel are most likely vulnerable to the hack.(Explained Below)
Kernels 7357/7363/7371
These 3 Kernels are what you may call the "iffy" kernels. Some contain a patched CB which makes the console un-exploitable.
How do you know if your console has the patched CB?
1.If the console manufacture date is BEFORE 6-1-2009 then the CB in the 360 will not be patched and you can perform the JTAG hack on it.
2. If the console manufacture date is AFTER 6-1-2009 then it is to have the patched CB and will not be able to get JTAGGED.
