Just show him your a decent guy and that your not an ass.. let him know that you have serious feelings for his daughter.. and your gunna look after her. mention you didnt want to do it behind his back because it would be disrespectful.. hell like that i think. Just make sure you come accross as a good person and that your serious about this and it should be fine....
