Hey TTG, I'm in need of some help and rep will be there for those with good answers. I know I don't have a lot but I need some help. Anyway, I want to restore my computer to factory settings or at least format the hard drive to speed it up. But my computer didn't come with the Windows OS installation/restore CD. So how should I go about restoring it? I've tried to do it with startup by pressing F8 and trying to go to Admin menu but every time I try to enter, it says that the administrator account is disabled. I have never setup a password so I'm not sure what is going on. I have 32 Bit Windows Vista Home Basic by the way. I know it sucks but I'm getting a new computer soon anyway. Plz help!

Well, if you read, it said that I tried that but since I can't restore because that option is in the Administrator menu and its disabled then I can't do that.

If your getting a new computer soon, just format the drive and use it as an extra drive on the new computer, vista is probably MS's worst OS anyways, Windows 7 is much more stable.

If you could find some way of downloading the operating system, (ahem...torrent...) you could then burn the file to a disc and reinstall the operating system. You can then use your activation key which should be on a sticker somewhere on your system and this is perfectly legal. What most people think is that if you torrent something it is bad and illegal. Its only file sharing and if you use your own product key, you have done nothing wrong Hope this helps
