it should be left this way, it makes the game more fun. the losers who sit there for 8 hours and get up to level 99 are just gonna have there high score deleted anyway so who cares?
95% of the time the leaderboards don't function properly, 100% of the time girls don't give a shit what your high score on a video game is.
