I called xbox support up for a different type of problem about a month ago. When I called the Robot thing (whatever its called) said "if you are calling in regards to a recent Ban/Suspension on your account, there was a minor glitch in our systems and will be resolved soon".

When I asked about that to the xbox support lady, she told me there servers recently suffered a major problem and are being fixed.
