most def weapons of some sort, they if they were leaked to other countries they may attack

Area 51 is a military base where they conduct classified expiriments - they are classified because they are the more dangerous things so if something goes wrong there is plenty force ready to destroy it and plenty of room as to where the can drop a payload if lets say an extra terrestrial or some type of weapon got loose(robot ai or somethin crazy) they can easily exterminate the threat without raising civilian awareness and panic.
To summarize it - Contained Extremly dangerous research center.
Get within 10 feet of it watch them send jets and helicopters to make sure you are not within the zone- they will kill u if u go in zone because they say the best of eyes can see things going on from inside and that risks a leak to public so u die to "keep the peace"
