Myself, My jtag is wired and my retail is wireless, If your on mw2 and its not saving, make sure, Xbox Live Unlock Is ON!! Hope i helped ;)

In your system settings (i believe in the family settings part) you can turn off all communications with live.

Do that on your jtag,
Your retail must be connected
