What the signs say are true (taking your word for it), but everything else in the first post is speculation/theory. Just because something looks like it should or did belong (generator hooked up to the wall), it doesn't mean it does belong now or was ever meant to be anything more than purposeful map design.

It's like saying that just because the Chandeliers in Kino look like they belong on the ceiling, doesn't mean they can be moved back to unlock some hidden area of the map.
