I've heard about this "theory" a long time ago and have done it ever since. After the very first time I've done it, I got a ray gun. Since then, never again.

its worked for me every time i did it. when me and some friends were playing i had the pistol only and i hit the box and i did this.it worked

it works.i had no guns in a game and when i got back alive i went to the box.i did this and i go the tundergun.i did it again and i got the ray gun
