Well it is fraud, so they have the right to ban you, and they can see your recently redeemed codes.

This is why you never do something like that on your main account, if you have a worry such as your account getting banned. Not much you can do for console banning.

They can trace back every code that was redeemed to an account.

You're wrong. You don't have to get thousands to be with in a chance of being banned. You still un-legitimately 'stole' MS points and no matter how many you got that night, you have a possibility of being banned.
