I was playing on the ps3 today and I got up there, we did not do the nodes, and the annotation or whatever was on there. I clicked square and I bought it. Now I do not think that the door was open, so I thought it was rather strange.

To confirm, did you check the wall directly below the buy dialogue?
On the 360, its been confirmed that the door beneath it moves to the left, but aside from that, does not open any areas or have any other effect.
