This has got to be a **** joke.
First off, The money from our subscriptions for xbox live dont just dive into Microsoft's pockets. You realize Microsoft's game studio created halo correct? Some of our money went into that. Its not really like your paying for some shitty, Stagnant, Laggy, Annoying, Limited, Expensive console *cough* PS3 *cough*. Your paying for the availability of stable connections, New games to be made, New improvements to the XBL marketplace the community as a whole benefits from xbox live being purchased. And the the "best comment" They have a free service. Called silver? You only pay for a premium membership.
Now, Onward if xbox live became free, Which is doubtful, Connection would suffer, Support would suffer, The quality of our community would suffer, The number of accounts could very well become out of control and be an irritation to all, No banning would be effective if you could create a million accounts. It would ruin the xbox for everyone. Ive owned both a ps3 and a 360 and by far the quality of the xbox surpasses that of the ps3.
So no, I dont believe it should be free. If you want free, Sell your xbox and buy a ps3. Those with common sense wont miss your ass, I guarantee it.
