I got the E 79 error message on my J tag how do i fix it?
I was putting in my HD PVR and i left one of the cords unplugged and i turn it on and i got the E 79 message.

E79: Hard Drive Error... It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it - if you console is jtagged this is probably the jtag wire installation fault.

e-79 is a dashboard error only !
3 ways this could happen
one if its hdmi u update your dash with out changing correct wiring method in jtag tool I.E. > uad clamp fix etc
two one of the wires has become de soldered
3 u have an xex in root of usb at startup (reserved for sys updates)

E79 can occur from a bad circuit in the jtag wires. just keep trying to turn it on and it will work eventually. You should switch to aud_clamp to avoid this

you need to thermal pase, and you need to open your jtag, then clean off the cpu and replace with thermal paste, and your good to go, on youtube search, RROD xclamp fix

well... if its anything about overheating, just reflow the gpu and cpu, chip...
