Incorrect, the fat man bomb dropped on hiroshima landed in the centre. Ensuring a large number of deaths.

The little boy bomb on the other hand, missed target due to wind and still managed to kill tens of thousands.

Now thats something I don't know much about but you can use this which I pulled off yahoo.


However, you can use the claims:
1). Japan was on the verge of surrender.
2). The bombings killed thousands of civilians.
3). It alarmed the Soviet Union and led to an eventual nuclear arms race.

Be prepared, as each one of those arguments can be countered.
1). There is no concrete evidence of Japan's seeking to surrender prior to the bombings.
2). Many civilians were killed in conventional bombing and the death toll of an Allied invasion would have created many more.
3). In truth, the Soviet Union knew of the atomic bomb test in July of 1945. The Soviets had an espionage network in the United States and probably would have built their own device whether the United States used the bombs or not.

You can easily expand on point 3 may I just add.

Russia is still running off technology from the cold war. The U.S. has some of if not the best technology of any country.
