just wondering what the difference btwn a devkit and a jtag is cause i am new to modding

Dev Kits are for coding and developing while jtags run the codes

well a dev kit stands for development kit and a jtag just lets you use patches and ranking shit pretty much

dev kits are for developing , debugging , etc ..they run unsigned code as well , but the xex files are a bit different ..they also do not connect to xbl ...they connect to partner net aka p-net ...where beta files can uploaded for testing and downloaded for testing dlc as well
for example if u wrote a patch for mwf2 and it script error-ed out on a tag u would just get an error message on a dev kit u can debug and find out exactly what whent wrong

Dev kits - aka - development kit is what microsoft use to make games etc. Jtags just allow you to run unsigned codes, e.g. XeX Menu, do 10th lobbies, run homebrew and emulators. Stuff like that really

Go to the "Introduction" section and click the link to my beginners guide to XDK's(dev kits).
Read that and compare with the Jtag guide and you will see the differences.

just jtags are for amateurs who aren't that experienced but for proffesional modders its heaven for them 8)
