My iPhone 3gs(old bootrom) had 4.3 on it jailbroken via sn0breeze 2.3b1. Today I tried to update it to original 4.3.1 in itunes. Unfortunately it was stuck at the very end of restoring iphone firmware in itunes and wouldn't move. So I restarted the process again and again. Before I would try the restoration process my iPhone would have a white screen then move to the updating screen. However now it has a white screen, is plugged in, yet my computer can't detect it. I suspect this may be so because the battery may have died. If I am wrong can anyone give me some advice as to what to do. If you need any more details just let me know and I will post them.

Put it in DFU mode, and give it like 20 mins while its off. thats going to pretty much reset your ipod, but youll still have everything on.

iReb won't tell me when it's in DFU mode since it can't connect to my iPhone. Will I still enter DFU mode even if it isn't connected because I tried to enter DFU mode?

Oh and it can't restart since I interrupted it in the middle of an update since the update wasn't working. So I still have the white screen.
