gosh you guys are dumb, nothing drastic will happen if it shuts down, mainly effects government employees, they cant work, national parks and monuments close, those sort of small thngs, doesnt effect anyone who doesnt work for the government directly. it was shut down for 20 days back in 1995 and they were just fine.

The government is not actually closing down, just "non-essential" governmental bodies/agencies will not be operating at their full extent.

The government cannot shut down, they used the expression shut down to bring more publicity to the matter. As stated before the government was just trying to cut budgets, and the two parties had a disagreement, And decided to pull a "shut down," President Obama has to do everything he can every month or two to bring his face back to the news so he can get more votes in the next election. They will be cutting payment of teachers, and military personal very sharply which sucks because they fight for our country, even if it is useless fights, it benefits us. Idk that is how I feel, OPINION

Honestly, people that are trying to understand economics when you have no clue how fragile it really is. If Americas economy crumbled, most of or all of the worlds would too under it.
