The way you can jailbrake your ipod is to go to this website, but make sure that you have 3.1.2 ipod software on your ipod if you dont have the 3.1.2 software on your ipod. I will give you more info ---->http://blackra1n.com/ it will give you a choice of what software you want to download it for such as windows click the Operating system that you use and run the file but make sure that you have your ipod connected other wise this wont work. the image on your computer screen will appear on your ipod.

If you dont have 3.1.2 software go to this website and download the 3.1.2 software ---->http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ once you have done this open itunes and click shift and restore and select the 3.1.2 software that you have saved to your documents and this will then downgrade your ipod software so that you can jailbrake it.
When you have the blackra1n app on your ipod open it and you will have a choice to download rock or cydia choose cydia because it is the most well known and used jailbrake app.
