Don't want to go to school today? Want to stay at home? T
the classics ok u tell ur mom your throat hurst and head hurts{need to tell her the night before} usually will work
If you've been ill before with a virus or bug repeat those symptoms; it will seem less like you are faking. If you've been to see someone who had a cold or something replicate those symptoms so it seems as though you caught it from them
STOMACH PROBLEMS Only eat bits and pieces of dinner; when your parent(s) ask what's wrong, tell them that your stomach hurts. Make sure you hide snacks in your room so you can miss a meal so they think you are sick because you're "not feeling well." If you normally do your homework, get started on it, but put your head down periodically so that they see you're not feeling well and it's interfering with your work
THROAT HURTS This only works if your parents are not the over-worrying kind. If you have over-protective parents that go running to the emergency room over a minor strep throat, do not attempt. The day before you plan to fake a sore throat, say that you're feeling a bit scratchy in your throat, and clear your throat a lot. That night, at about 7:45pm/8:00pm, say that you feel tired, and that you have a headache.
COLD AND FLUU Breathe only through your mouth, as if your nose is stuffed. To get your nose to sound stuffy when you talk go to the sink and sniff in a very small amount of waterThen make sure you say a lot of m's when you are near your parents. If you're not in the same room as they, and they ask you something, hold your nose slightly when you talk. Wear many layers of clothing. This makes it look as though you are freezing, since sick people feel cold easily. Sneeze loudly, then sniffle in front of your parents. Do this also when they're not in the same room but can overhear you from wherever they are. While they're not looking, rub your forehead, face, and eyes (if you have parents who check your face for temperature) then approach them, saying you don't feel so great. It'll make your face red and warm.
GO TO BED EARLY Don't say anything. When you're around them, just walk out of the room and go to your bed. Don't brush your teeth--they'll probably wake you up to remind you. At that point, they'll probably wonder what's wrong, and you can tell them that you're not feeling well. Describe your "symptoms" and appear impatient, maybe even cranky, and eager to go to bed
MAKE SURE U KNOW WHATS COMING LIKE TEMPATURE TAKING If you do a good job, your parents will probably want to take your temperature, in which case you can say "I have to go to the bathroom." make sure you have a cup with you then turn on the sink and take some warm water and drink it and rinse it through your mouth, especially under your tongue. Note this only works if they check it under your tongue obviously.
WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING
Avoid being 'sick' too much, or your parents might catch on.
Do not tell anyone about you faking your sickness not even friends because they could go tell your parents
Know your parent. If your parents are both doctors, for example, they will obviously be a challenge to fool.
Do not fake a urinary tract infection (pretending to have to pee constantly, and saying that it burns when you go). This is a serious condition and your parents will take you to the doctor, even if you say the symptoms subsided. There, you'll probably be given an antibiotic that will cost your parents money (in countries with a publicly funded health system the tax payer) and might make you actually feel nauseated.
Do not, under any circumstances, take real medicine or make yourself throw up. There is no safe medicine. They all have side effects, and even over the counter medicine can harm you if you are not actually sick. Self-induced vomiting is also dangerous. It can lead to stomach, esophagus, and dental damage.
Faking sick too often can lead to parents not trusting you. Then when you really need the day off, they won't believe you. Even if you fake once and get caught, you will lose your credibility, and your parents won't trust you anymore, even if you are sick (think of the little boy who cried wolf).
Try to refrain from leaving your house, as someone you may know or the police could catch you and you could be in trouble.
Should you decide to leave the house, do not, under any circumstances, go anywhere that is close to your school. An off-duty staff member could catch you.
If your parents insist you stay on the couch or in their sight and say things like, "No, you can't go up to your room I'll just have to walk up and down stairs all day" you may get bored just watching TV. If (when you were actually sick) they did this, then chances are they will do it again.
Viruses typically only last 24 hours or so. DO NOT fake a stomach virus for longer than this time period.
Don't talk about what you're getting out of (test, P.E., etc.) or else your parents will suspect you're just getting out of it.
If your parents try to give you medicine, don't take it! If it's a pill say you have a bottle of water in your bedroom and you don't want to open another bottle. then throw the pill away! If they are standing in front of you, quickly drop the pill in your shirt or something when they're not looking.
GO TO SCHOOL GO TO SCHOOL GO TO SCHOOL GO TO SCHOOL
Every so often US gamers may need to fake an illness to the school nurse. You may have less severe or embarrassing symptoms that you don't want to tell the nurse about or you could just need to get out of school to miss a test, avoid a bully or just to take a mental health day.
Since there are many people who fake badly, here are some tips to faking an illness and still being believable and hopefully getting a parent to pick you up from school. One way to fake sick is to rub your eye make sure its red but not too red and go to the nurse tell her you have pink eye she will make you wash out your eye but it will still be red she will have to send you home since its contagious when your parents pick you up just tell them you need some visine it wont hurt you your eye will clear up with the visine and you get to go home without having to worry about the DR.
Believe it, if you get into it good enough you can sort of trick your body into believing that you're sick, making the symptoms more realistic.
Certain symptoms go together and some don't. Don't try to combine a stomach ache with an ear ache.
If you are complaining of a head ache also tie in sore throat, feeling achy. You can also say you blew up green when you blew your nose. This looks like a sinus infection or a head cold. This is potentially contagious and they won't want you at school
A worsening sore throat could also be the beginnings of strep throat.
If you decide to go with a sore throat, be prepared for the throat swab!
A headache with light sensitivity is a symptom of a migraine. Don't try to fake one if you've never had one. The symptoms are pretty unique.
Tell her you've had a few bathroom emergencies with an upset stomach. Your potentially embarrassing symptoms will make it seem unlikely that you're lying. Let her know your stomach cramps up until you get to the bathroom and then it's better for a while.
Say you have to go to the bathroom to the nurse, flush the toilet, and wash your hands. While your washing your hands, put hot water in your mouth and come out, the nurse will ask if your ok now, just shake your head no (say no quietly if you're faking a headache) and swallow the hot water, now she will put the thermometer in your mouth and it will be like 102.
Pay attention to what other teachers and students have been getting sick with the last week or two. If strep throat or a stomach flu is going around you can jump on that symptom bandwagon. The nurse will probably know it's been going around.
Girls, either don't wear makeup that day or don't wear dark makeup. Use lighter colors and skip the lipstick, blush and mascara. Borrow someone's pale powder if possible. Under do it. Your nurse will probably see that something looks different about you and assume you must be sick.
If you're stuck in the nurse's office during lunch she may ask if you're hungry and want to get some lunch. Say no and that you're just not hungry.
If you're trying to fake a cold or sinus issue you should walk in with a kleenex in your hand and perhaps a non-medicinal cough drop or piece of hard candy in your mouth.
Tell her you threw up last night. How many times you threw up is up to you, but 2 is a good limit.
Know your target. If you know for a fact that the school nurse is much more likely to fall for a fake sick story, bring out all your techniques on her more so than your parents.
Prepare for coming back. When you go back to school, your teachers will make you do the work you missed. Try to get the homework from your sick day the day before, but be careful, so you won't cause suspicion.
Try to rub vaporub on your eyelids. It will make you teary, a classic symptom of a cold.
Keep saying that you feel nausous and think you need to throw up. Lay down, curled up. after 5 minutes sit up and run to the bathroom (or ask if there is anything that you can vomit in). Every few minutes run to the bathroom, stay in for a few minutes, and come out saying nothing happenned but you thought it started coming up. Or if the nurse has a bin or bucket you can put the bucket on your lap and lean over as if you need to vomit and say "it wont come out".
If you want to, test your luck with the vomit. Bring a good friend that says you threw up in the bathroom.
If they ask if you've had anything to drink say yes if you have. They'll expect your cold intake to hide a fever.
Try to time it so your parent's day won't get ruined or they simply can't come get you. Don't try it when they're at the airport trying to catch a plane. There's nothing worse than being sick, the nurse making the call and you're still stuck because your parents are tied up in meetings. Pay attention to what your parents say about their schedule. You may have to get to the nurse earlier.
Don't take any prescription medicine. If necessary take a low dose aspirin or something.
Don't suddenly stop being sick or your parents will catch on very quickly. If you do comment how you're feeling better at least 20 minutes before.
Timing is important; avoid trying this on Mondays or after breaks.
If you miss too much school, you'll have trouble keeping up in class.
Dress and try to look as pale as possible.
HERE ARE SOME MORE SCENARIOS OF WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO
Don’t use fake vomit. It usually indicative of a pretty bad sickness, and you are therefore subject to more investigative testing from both parents and doctors than you would be with just a bad cold. Also, that sort of preparation allows you to get caught, which will totally ruin any hope of staying home.
Don’t use any sort of warm compress to heat your forehead, or put a thermometer against a lightbulb or in hot water or something. This will throw all readings totally off (they will be much too high) and you will be exposed as the fraud you are. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s begin with the Do’s.
Now, in my mind, the key to faking sick is preparation. This is plays a vital role in improving your chances of staying home, as it lays the groundwork for your lie.
The night before you “become ill,†tell your parents you are not feeling well, and attempt to exhibit the symptoms of a sick person. Remember, the earlier the better. These symptoms include acting very tired, and talking in a sickly, raspy voice. Tell your parents that your throat hurts, and you have a headache.
While doing this, make sure you are hunched over slightly (even while standing), and your eyes are droopy. Red eyes help too. This can be achieved by touching the white part of your eye, or just rubbing them a lot. Basically, you want to look like you are the result of intense biological warefare.
After you have carried on this charade for a while, it’s time for bed. Wear something a little warm, such as sweatpants. Also, be sure to wake up little early tomorrow morning, before your parents.
It’s morning, and you’ve woken up. Now what you’ll want to do is STAY UNDER THE COVERS! This means your entire body, head included. If you have an electric blanket, use it. Don’t put it over your head (you’ll get too hot) , but just use it as you normally would, in order to raise your core temperature. In addition, try and keep your body moving constantly. Try rubbing your legs together, or your arms. Just kind of do a general wriggling about.
When it comes time for you to normally get out of bed, DON’T! Stay there, and wait for your parents to come and check on you. Here is where your acting had better be Oscar-worthy. When they ask you how you are, talk in the most sickly voice you can and say, “Not good.†Nothing more, nothing less. And when they ask you what hurts, just say, “My throat, and my head.â€
They’re likely to come and take your temperature. It’s ok if you don’t have a fever. As long as you’re warm, you’re casting doubt about the state of your health. Just keep describing the same symptoms, and keep on acting sickly.
If you’re parents go to feel your glands here is what you do. There is a muscle that is very close to your glands, and if you flex it, it seems as if your glands are swollen. I don’t know if everyone knows how to flex it, so I’ll try and describe it.
Take your tongue, and try and squish it as far back into your mouth as possible. This doesn’t mean going over the top so the bottom of your tongue touches the roof of your mouth. It’s kind of like making your tongue really fat. Then, while still keeping your tongue fat, try and touch one side of the base of your tongue with the tip. This should slightly flex the muscle. If you’re doing it right, you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
Now comes the moment of truth: Your parents ask you if you feel well enough to go to school. I think you already know the answer. No! Don’t make it terribly obvious though. Say something along the lines of, “I really don’t feel well today, and I don’t think I should go to school.†Don’t go on rants; your throat hurts, remember? Also, whenever you swallow saliva, make a face as if it is causing you pain. Every little detail counts.
Stick to your guns about not going to school, because this is the deciding factor as to whether or not you are going. If you don’t succeed here, then you’re going. If that is the case, repeat the same thing for the school nurse, and attempt to have your parents pick you up from school. This shouldn’t be terribly hard, because they usually think that if you’re this determined to be home, you’re sick.
With either of these scenarios, there is always the risk of….THE DOCTOR!!! But really, don’t be terribly afraid. What they do is look for symptoms, and they rarely do any major testing. Just continue to describe those same symptoms, and continue to act sickly. Assuming you have no fever (because you were faking before), he’ll probably tell you you have a virus. Viruses don’t tend to give people fevers, and they can’t be treated with antibiotics. The only cure is…..you guessed it! Rest and fluids! The two things that only home can provide you with.
So, that’s my guide. I’ve used it numerous times to be able to study for tests, finish homework, and just take a couple of days off. I hope that this guide will be useful to you readers as well. An important thing to note, however, is to not abuse this. After a while, your parents WILL CATCH ON. Don’t do it more than 4 times a year, for most parents at least.
Happy Faking!!
