I know the DVD key matters. I have a friend that needs a disc drive and i have the right type does it matter what is in my jtag?

if im understanding u correctly u can just switch out the PCB board's on the dvd drives as long as there the same. benq's and lite-on's require soldering. hope that helps. let me know if im not understanding the ?. lol

No i want to know if i can flash the dvd key to it. Like take out the hitachi and put in a lite-on

If you have all of the hardware and software to do it then sure you can. I don't mess with lite-ons, thankfully I have about 100+ BenQ drives, so that is where all of my donor drives, spoof drives, and flashed drives come from...
You can take out the Hitachi, extract the DVD Key and spoof the Lite-On or any other drive as that Hitachi, but you have to have all of the proper stuff to do it.
