Borderlands 2, a sequel to the original Borderlands, a game that was highly praised, is almost assuredly coming. As Mike Neumann, the creative director for developer Gearbox, said that continuing the series with a “Borderlands 2″ would be a “no-brainerâ€, as long as all the pieces fall into place.
Speaking to VG247, Neumann is quoted as saying:
“Borderlands is really exciting. Everyone here loves the franchise, and it seems like the public is really coming back with praise and love. So yeah, if everything makes sense, Borderlands 2 seems like a no-brainer to me. With anything, especially a new IP, if people want more and you can make more, and everybody can make money and do good business there, it obviously makes really good sense to do that. Obviously nothing so far is planned. We’re working on DLC. We haven’t really had any talks about a sequel, other than water cooler talk like, ‘Wouldn’t this be cool’ kind of stuff.â€
What do you think they should change from the first one?
I think they should make more terrain obviously, because the desert got old. (from the name borderworlds, I am guessing they will be doing that) I also think eridian weapons should be less shitty. There should be more people to choose from, but still keep the same ones aswell. More people customizations too. They should also have armor, like, Heavy goes to brick, medium goes to roland and light goes to mordecai and lilith. I also think you should be able to customize weapons, but you shouldn't be able to buy parts, you should have to take apart your guns and mix and match them with your other guns. It would be easy to add, get a body from a gun, put a stock, a barrel, an element and a scope on it. One flaw was that you could walk through claptrap, it irritated me to no end, but I would always do it because it was fun. I think they should have a gladitorial arena, I thikn they had it, but I didn't know how to use it. Maybe an online multiplayer where its like team deathmatch? idk, what do you think.
You heard right, kiddies! Apparently, the success of the much-awaited, much-delayed RPG/FPS hybrid game which is currently available on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 has pretty much guaranteed that a sequel will be produced.
In an interview on British website VG247, studio creative director Mike Neumann stated that given the new franchise’s success and popularity thus far, a Borderlands sequel seemed like a no-brainer. “Yes, I can probably confirm that there’s a chance of a Borderlands 2,†said Neumann when asked if there was any chance that a sequel would be produced.
Neumann made it clear that the folks over at Gearbox were currently focusing on DLC and nothing more, but that Borderlands 2 had come up as “water cooler talk.†As it stands, Gearbox representatives did not comment on Neumann’s statements.
A Borderlands sequel would definitely seem like the ideal choice for Gearbox what with the success of the first game. Despite numerous delays, Gearbox Software was able to deliver a game that satisfied most and received high review scores. Borderlands, the part shooting, part stats management, all action game, managed to win gamers over with its blend of role-playing and frantic shooting action, online play, and highly stylistic graphics. It would definitely be in Gearbox’s best interests to release a sequel somewhere along the line.
For now, gamers should stay focused on the first game. After so many delays, you better believe Gearbox isn’t ready to move on just yet. And with DLC in the works, it is apparent that Borderlands still has a lot of life left in it. Now, we turn our attention to you, the gamers. Does a Borderlands sequel seem like a guarantee at this point? What changes should be made to the formula? What can make the game better? When exactly would be the ideal time to release Borderlands 2?
hope its not to long

Gearbox said they're releasing DLC all this year for Borderlands and then next year Borderlands 2 is coming out and they're going to focus on that.
