TTG,
I'm sure that there are tons of members that enjoy reading (No, I don't mean the crap that is required in school). I figured I would open up a topic for members to post what they are currently reading. When you are done with your book feel free to edit your post and offer a review. Also feel free to ask for recommendations.
As of 14 Sept 09 I am currently reading
Caesar's Legion: The Epic Saga of Julius Caesar's Elite Tenth Legion and the Armies of Rome by Stephen Dando-Collins
- It depicts the story of Caesar’s 10th legion throughout its history and gives details about its biggest battles.
- Casca's Review - So far I have enjoyed this book very much. Warfare fascinates me and this book continues to keep me interested. If you are into the Roman period or have an interest in the Legions I would recommend this book for you.
On Roman Military Matters: A Training Manual in Organization, Weapons and Tactics Practiced by the Roman Legions Originally by Flavius Vegetius Renatus Translated by John Clarke
-Translated 5th century training manual for the organization, weapons and tactics of the Roman Legions.
-Casca's Review - Very good book detailing the day to day organization of the Roman Legions. I purchased this as an additive to the other book that I am reading. It fills in the blanks.
Deadman's Bluff by James Swain
-Part of the "Grift Sense" Series
-Casca's Review - Great book and series. It follows a retired Atlantic City Casino cop that has started his own Casio and Scamming consultantcy company. Throughout his books he works for casinos and other gambling establishments and tries to catch cheaters and scam artists. The interesting thing is that the author is an expert in the field and always offers incite in all of his books. He explains several scams that he has come upon in his life along with tons of information on how people cheat at the casinos. I have enjoyed all of them. Deadman's Bluff is the sequel to Deadman's Poker.

The Halo books are really good. I like them because they give an insite to John (117) and his history.
If you like them I would recommend the following books
Armor by John Steakley
Starship Troopers By Robert A. Heinlein
Hammer Slammers By David Drake
Just to name a few
