Yeah i accepted the update then i booted the default_mp.xex and it logs me out of xbox live and says that i need to update. And i don't have a capture card.

Okay make shure all your files are allready installed to your Harddrive.
1.) Open Up XeXMenu Or XeXLoader (Make Shure your offline)
2.) Find Where you installed MW2
3.) Click On Default_mp.ff in the MW2 Folder
4.) Press Xbox Live, Then Sign in to your Profile and there you go!

Yeah i have the codepost and the default_mp. i wondering if i won't work because i have mw2 installed on an external hdd and the update is going onto my xbox hdd?
