Yes its a pre-nxe xbox and It should still be under warranty. Then will they ship me back the regular xbox?

If it's pre-nxe how can it still be in warranty? That's over 4 years ago.

You have to go register your 360 on their site to find out if it's still under the 3 year rrod warranty. Basically if you bought it more than 3 years ago from today's date, the warranty has expired. Microsoft will go by either the manufactured date on the back or the date of your purchase receipt. Obviously if the two dates are years apart, they'd be suspicious. I've sent in consoles which have expired from the manufactured date but I had a proof of purchase which showed a later date so they honored it.

There have been some reports that people with out of warranty, but working 360s that did not take the new dashboard update are offered the new 360 slims. You can only take advantage of this offer if your 360 is working because it requires not only the serial, but the console ID, which you can't get if the 360 isn't booting.
