I really want to kick start League of Legends and move this forum to more than just Runescape.

League of Legends is an awesome MOBA game. It is inspired by DOTA and has a nice polish and improved gameplay. This is due to the fact that DOTA was a custom map, and think of this as DOTA but as a game.

So lets get the basics covered:

LoL has two maps at this moment - Twisted Treeline (3v3) and Summoners Rift (5v5)
Each map contains a 'Jungle' and an Epic Monster ( In Summoners Rifts case an Epic Monster and a lower but stronger than normal jungle monsters 'Dragon' )

LoL features a chat system and a level up system. You start off playing non-ranked games until you reach the level cap (30). At level 30 you then have the option to start playing Ranked games. These are more competitive and there are 3 modes. Firstly; 5v5 Solo Queue (non-arranged), 5v5 Arranged Team and finally 3v3 Arranged Team.

Some other cool features:

League of Legends features a shop. In game you earn points called influence points. With influence points you can buy new Champions and Runes. Riot also has it's own currency called 'Riot Points'. With these you can buy champions and skins. Skins are basically new themes for your champions. For example with Rammus when you buy him you will get a default skin. But if you decide you like this champion then you can buy a sweet skin for him which everyone will be able to see. Riot points offer you nothing game changing for example runes, which can only be bought with influence points.

Masteries & Summoner Spells - In game you are allowed to choose from a variety of summoner spells. These are spells which are usable by you and not your standard champion spells. These can range from Flash (level 30) which allows you to blink out of a bad situation to Ignite (Which can deal some damage and half health regen for a short while). Masteries come along with leveling up. Every time you level up you gain an additional 1 point in your masteries book which you can spend on little small things to aid you in your battles for example a tiny armor piercing point which pierces 2 armour per attack. Whats also great is that you can return your points and re-assign them at any time to fit the need of whatever champion you will be playing.
