Ok i emaild Bungie a few days ago and i got a reply saying

Pop in your ODST campaign disc and look for "Preview the Beta" in the main menu. Once the Beta is live on May 3rd, the text will change, prompting you to "Play the Beta."

So thats when u know halo reach beta will work
