Right I have just found a genius way how to fake your firmware on iphone !
First download iFile, if you need a cracked version try to add a source like xsellise or sinful iphone repo. then go right to the start and click system then libary then coreservices then system version at the bottom. here is a section from it:
<key>ProductBuildVersion</key>
<string>5F137</string>
<key>ProductCopyright</key>
<string>1983-2008 Apple Inc.</string>
<key>ProductName</key>
<string>iPhone OS</string>
<key>ProductVersion</key>
<string>2.1</string>
the <string>2.1</string> is what firmware your running on if you haven't changed it, from there change the number to what firmware you want to fake, I am currently faking 4.2.1
If you dont know how to change the number then click edit at the top hold your finger near the number and change it to whatever firmware you want !
This is a very easy way and it is good for installing apps that your firmware doesn't support !
