Thats weird that tapping the xbox doesn't work for MW3. Never seen that before.

YES FIRST TAKE YOUR GAME OUT AND CLOSE THE TRAY SO IT RESETS THE LASER THEN TRY IT IF THAT DOESNT WORK YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE YOUR XBOX APART
